October 25th - Junior inter club sparring competition 1500 - 1630 at Billericay

The Junior sparring competition went very well, good attendance and everyone who participated had a great time. We had over 50 bouts in the hour and a half and the juniors were all buzzing with enthusiam and excitement at the end. Great day, great fun and great spirit from all the contestants. Thanks to all those adults who helped with the organisation. WE WILL BE DOING IT AGAIN!!

Sunday 18th October

We will dedicate our Sunday session (3 - 4.30pm) for Competition practice. For anyone who hasn’t paid Sunday subs, there will be a £3 one off charge.

Thursday 22nd October

All requirements for the Course & Championship tickets (see below) must be received by us no later than Thursday 22nd October 2009. Please note that all tickets must be purchased in advance, there will be no facility for people to pay on the door. This applies to both participants and spectators alike.

Sunday 25th October

There will be a junior sparring competition for Junior Billericay members only. We have worked on 'one touch' light sparring in the past few weeks and the juniors have shown great enthusiasm largely due to the fact that the 'winner' is the first person to land a clean light contact strike and size , strength and grade does not always determine the outcome.

We would stress that this is not the same style of sparring as the national competition in November 2009 (see below) and will be run on a 'round robin' league style basis thereby guaranteeing that all participants will be fully engaged for the whole session.

Gloves headguards etc will be provided but if you have your own then please bring them along. We do have a small number of foot guards in stock so please ask.

Again, for those students who have not paid Sunday fees, the entry cost will be £3
